Greetings Reader! Since tour ended, we've still been busy in the background working to bring you more music live, and recorded! We'll be back in the southeast in February 2026, and recently submitted a jazz residency grant to SouthArts that, if funded, would support the creation of several new works for the quintet plus touring in Birmingham AL, and Atlanta, GA on top of our existing FL date in the panhandle. Next week, Czarna Wolgastar will be doing our first photoshoot, and I promise, I am working on a special fundraising campaign for our vinyl box set project! Your support on Patreon and Fractured Atlas has started to make it easier to spend more time on these types investments in bringing you more music, so thank you! Right now though, there is something time-sensitive: For one week this April, each donation you make to our work via our fiscal sponsor, Fractured Atlas (FA), gives us a chance to win a $1,000 award from FA. They will give 20 projects an award, and every donation made between Monday, April 14 and Friday, April 18 counts as an entry. Donations of any amount help improve our odds, so we encourage you to pay what you can and share our fundraiser far and wide. Can you become a supporter today?
Thanks! Mr. Ho and the Orchestrotica Mr. Ho's Orchestrotica is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the charitable purposes of Mr. Ho's Orchestrotica must be made payable to"Fractured Atlas" only and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. |
Love exotica music? Brian here, aka Mr. Ho, and I want to invite you to join the official Mr. Ho's Orchestrotica fan mailing list. You'll get access to 6 free MP3s from our Exotica for Modern Living Series, plus the latest news, offers, and insights from our intergalactic balkan surf jazz trio (Czarna Wolgastar), our exotica/global jazz quintet, and our Esquivel Megaband formation.
Aloha Reader, For those of you in the upper hemisphere, I'm hoping the warmth of spring is upon you - here in New England, it's nice to see green and get the shorts out! Behind the scenes here at Orchestrotica HQ, we've been working on a few programs including some grants, building out our 2026 southeast tour (hoping to get routing in Birmingham, AL and Atlanta, GA), and wrapping up our Czarna Wolgastar photoshoot. Thanks Sasha Pedro Photography and Wusong Road for providing us a great space...
Aloha everyone, I'm trying to take a little break from Orchestrotica stuff since wrapping up our tour a couple weeks ago and our super fun CW Trio concert in Portland, ME on the 7th. We're already in tour planning mode for 2026 too! Want to see some pics from tour, and behind the scenes? View the tour photo album. Today's dispatch is a guest post by long-time quintet member on cümbüş, oud, and resonator guitar Tev Stevig. Tev is also Czarna Wolgastar's arranger/composer/guitarist…and he's...
Earthling Reader! We interrupt this post-tour Orchestrotica debrief to bring you an urgent broadcast from Wolgastar I, now in orbit in the Sol system. The tour was great; but it's not every week there is an ALIEN BAND IN MAINE. The Wolgastarians are back. And this time, they're doing a workshop in addition to joining with the bodies of 3 orchestrotica members to present their intergalactic balkan surf jazz in Portland, ME. Live @ Mayo Arts - Fri, Feb 7, 2025 10 Mayo StPortland, ME 04101 (Map)...
